Remembering the blog/Bible Studies

Wow. I had forgotten about setting this blog up, as anyone can tell by looking at the post dates. I will take advantage of this blog and post my thoughts about the Bible studies I'm doing. One is a Beth Moore study on the life of Paul: To Live Is Christ. The other one is by Nancy Leigh DeMoss about Proverbs 31: The Counter-Cultural Woman. The first one is over half done, so I won't comment much on that one, but the Proverbs 31 is just beginning and I will try to comment on it daily as God works on my heart to create in me the person He intends me to be.

Day 1
I like the possibility that King Lemuel is King Soloman and that his mother, Bathsheba is the one teaching her son. She wants her son to learn from her and avoid the mistakes others have made. I have failed at this job. I have not taught my children how to live for God and how to choose the right mate in life; what qualities to look for and what to avoid in a spouse. Is it too late? I don't think so. I vow to begin now, looking forward rather than backward, and remember how to teach my children. One way is by example, another by teaching and yet another by prayer.

Wow. I can feel God talking to me already. I pray that my mind and spirit will remain open to His Spirit, and that I will be teachable and receptive to what the Holy Spirit is showing me. Help me to teach my children in the way that they should go, even though they are all grown now, so they can learn from the mistakes of others and not have to learn everything the hard way.
